“Sorry, I’m not that kind of veterinarian: A window into an alternative veterinary career that goes beyond small and large animal practice.”
Dr.Wendy O. Williams earned her veterinary degree in 1997 from Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario. In 2002, after several years of employment both in a small animal veterinary clinic and various research institutions in the GTA, she assumed a role as a Clinical Veterinarian at the Center for Animal Resources and Education (CARE) at Cornell University, in Ithaca, New York.
In 2011, she achieved a specialist status as a Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM). Currently, Wendy is the Assistant Director of Training Services at Cornell University. She holds an Adjunct Professor position in the Department of Biomedical Science and is the Section Chief of the Clinical Service in Laboratory Animal Medicine for the Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine. Wendy is motivated to help people achieve their goals; while promoting animal well-being and has created a trademarked training method called Translational Training Tools; the 3 Ts Serving the 3 RsTM.
Wendy also provides clinical veterinary services for animals studied in the departments of Psychology, Neurobiology and Behaviour, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and other Life Sciences Departments at Cornell University.
